Fable Friendships

Fable Friendships has changed us.
We started as timid readers who were afraid to speak out loud. Now, we confidently read to a room of 15–20 seniors every week.
After our first year, we asked the seniors how they felt about the program. Many said they feel happier, more connected, and excited for our visits each week.
The number of attendees continues to grow, and many familiar faces return week after week.
What began with two kids and just a few listeners has grown into a warm, welcoming community built around stories, laughter, and friendship.
Fable Friendships was also featured in TIME for Kids – “Service Stars 2025: Stars in Action” for helping bring generations together through stories, conversation, and friendship.
